Jo Wheatley's Orangey Hot Cross Buns

Jo's buns, now they are tasty but I think for those who haven't baked bread before they can seem a little bit scary so at the moment there are only two lots of pictures to show but there is still time for any latecomers.  I've never knowingly been on time in my life so I certainly don't mind!

These are Andy Robinson's absolutely perfect buns made with the help of her gorgeous daughter Ivy who is going to take after Mum and become a brilliant baker, actually she probably is already.

And here are mine, not quite so perfect, you need to read my blog http://jennisdailyjottings.blogspot.co.uk to realise the problems I had!  And I thought I was quite able in the bread making stakes but then we all have days when it doesn't go quite to plan but as my son Alex @harrisonsfund testified, after a very careful tasting session, they were topped with homemade raspberry jam, they still were pretty delicious.

Jo's tip of blitzing mixed peel is a brilliant one, I did the whole batch and then just used some and popped the rest back in the container and in the fridge.
